How Busy Women Can Stay in Shape

Health Hints for Your Hectic Schedule

Lisa Belle
Women today are expected to do more than ever: we raise kids, we hold professional jobs, we organize and maintain our families and households. With so much to do, it's easy to forget our own personal health and fitness. Exercising is easy to cut out of your schedule, especially when you have a big meeting coming up or your child's class play to attend. Staying physically active will help you live your busy life more healthfully and happily and will give you a beautiful and lasting glow. Here are a few tips and methods you can use to get a little exercise in each day:

Create a Home Gym
If you create a home gym- a little space in your home with 1 or machines, a few weights, and an exercise ball- you'll never have to worry about driving to the gym or putting on makeup just to walk around the block. By having a home gym, you can also multitask and complete your daily phone calls while on the elliptical or unwind and read your favorite novel while jogging on the treadmill.

Exercise in the Morning
By making a commitment to exercise in the morning, you'll wake up faster and get your physical activity out of the way before your day gets busy. If you can make yourself get up half an hour earlier each morning, before anyone else is up, and exercise for a while, you'll feel wonderful and accomplished with yourself, and rightly so.

Get an Exercise Buddy
By getting an exercise buddy or personal trainer, you'll be more likely to keep your commitment of exercise, plus you'll have more fun chatting with somebody while working out.

Take the Stairs Instead of the Elevator
Simply taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work, the mall, or school can help you stay healthy and in shape. Its best to have somebody with you that you can race up the stairs with- that way, you'll have more competition and you'll never be alone on an abandoned staircase.

Go Shopping More
When you go to the mall, you walk around all day, stand in lines, and carry heavy bags of new stuff for hours and hours. By having more shopping days, you'll be much more active and healthy than before.

Carry a Water Bottle
Staying hydrated is especially important when you're busy and trying to rev up your exercise routine. Always keep a filled water bottle handy, and replace your sugary sodas with H20 for a real health boost.

In this hectic, busy world, it can be hard to stay in shape. Follow this advice, and you'll be on your way to a healthier, happier you. Have fun with your exercise routine, stay safe, and good luck!
