For this sewing project you will need a button up dress shirt, a pillow form or something to use to stuff the pillow (see more on this below), and the use of a sewing machine.

Start by getting a clean button up dress shirt. Turn it inside out and pin the two sides together so the pieces will not shift when you cut the shirt.
If you are using a pillow form, you will need to cut the shirt 2 inches wider and 2 inches longer than the pillow form. So, if your pillow form is 12 inches wide by 14 inches tall, you need to cut your shirt so you have a rectangle that measures 14 inches wide by 16 inches tall.
If you are not using a pillow form, you can cut the shirt to make any size pillow that you want. Then you can stuff the pillow with any type of fiber fill (get it in the sewing section of any store that sells sewing supplies or craft supplies). You can also stuff the pillow with old towels or pieces of blankets, fabric scraps, or anything else that will fill the pillow.
In both cases, you want to cut your fabric squares (or rectangles) so the buttons are in the center of the pillow... or not! There is no rule saying the buttons have to be in the middle.
When you have cut your shirt, sew all around the edges using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Then unbutton the shirt (it will be inside out so it's a bit tricky) and turn it right side out.
Your button up dress shirt pillow is now ready to be stuffed!
