There are a few ways to complete this process but you have to make sure that you follow the export and import laws in India and the United States. Get ready to fill out a lot of paper work from various agencies as you prepare to buy your car from India. Keep in mind that some vehicles are prohibited from entering the United States.

Call the United States Customs Service at (703) 526-4200 and ask the representative what are the procedures for importing a car from India into the United States. Perform this same procedure with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) by calling (800) 424-9393 and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by calling (202) 564-9240. Follow and complete all the necessary paperwork and requirements by all agencies.
