For the Budget Conscious

D.K. Bernhard
Well, your son wants a PSP, a PS3, an iPhone, and an XBox 360. You don't know what half of those things are, but you want to make him happy without breaking the bank? This article is for you! These are six tips to help you buy the latest and greatest electronics for the holiday season, and not break the bank.

slickdeals.net

This is a forum where people place ads, coupons, and legitimately Slick Deals on the internet that they have found for great prices. The items range from food products to major, high end electronics and computers, and they have individual categories for each item type. Check out this site, sign up for the forums, and you can even find a post to help you find the best deal on a specific product. There is no cost, and you may save a lot of money.

Fatwallet.com

In the same line as slick deals, Fat Wallet is another site, and though the main purpose of their site is to buy products through their referral links for a few percent cash back (with little catch), you can also sign up for their forums, and find slick deal type information on electronics, freebies, and more. When you have found a great deal, see if the store you are going to buy it from has it online, buy it through Fat Wallet's referral link, and possibly even save some more money.

Black Friday Sales

Now, are you the type of person who will go out at 4am (or earlier) on the day after Thanksgiving to get some great prices on consumer electronics? Well now, a lot of retailers will let you take advantage of the same sales from the comfort of your own home, so you don't need to risk being trampled!

eBay

Though the usefulness of getting eBay stuff for great bargains is past its prime, you can still get good bargains from eBay, if you don't mind bidding a few times, to try and get the price point you want. They even have a "Make an offer" where you can name your own price, and the seller may accept it.

Staples

Yes, staples is an office supply store, but they have amazing sales on some major, name brand electronics, and often have free shipping, coupons, double coupons, and more! They will accept manufacturer's coupons, sometimes let you stack coupons, as well as mail in rebates and more. Definitely worth checking out for some electronics, and stocking stuffers while you are at it.

Craig's list

Now be careful before you buy anything on craig's list, but sometimes you can find great deals on electronics or other high end items that need to be sold for quick cash, or to get it out of the house. Make sure you are thoroughly inspecting your products before you buy, and take someone with you when you go to make the purchase.
