One's First Holy Communion is much like the second Baptism day. It is one of the most meaningful days in the Christian life of your son because it signifies that he has reached the age when he can now take part in all of the Sacraments of the Church. The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist makes him a full-pledged member of the Body of Christ. Thus, the event should be marked with joyful celebration. Most parents however are at a quandary where and how to buy the right suit for their son.

A double breasted white suit or a cream one would certainly be suited for the occasion. One of the best stores which offer this is Kids Dresses. Kids Dresses started business in 1996, specializing in kid's clothing for "special events". Their Communion suits for boys looks all classically designed, and they do have a lot of them to choose from. You can buy suits for 50-60 dollars during this season because they're presently holding a clearance sale. If you want a suit NOW, however, you may be unable to get it. They require that purchases be made two weeks before Communion Day so that the suit will properly fit your son should it need some adjustments.

The Perfect Pear is a children's boutique which may be a bit more costly, but they give sensible advise. They point out that dark communion suits for kids, like Navy and Black are the best ones because they can be used again for another formal event. They include wool suits with different vests, in case the event is held during the cold months. They also have an array of designs but they do not give out any price estimates. Their main boutique is located in Fraser, MI but they have whole catalog online at http://theperfectpeer.com

Macy's also offers a diverse collection of all kinds of kid's tuxedo suits (even designer ones). They don't call it Communion suits but rather boys formal tuxedo and/or tailored formal wear. Prices at Macy's go from 70-100 dollars plus.Of course, if you happen to want a designer's brand for your kid, you would definitely have to spend more. Thee is also the Rosey Bear boutique which offers ALL kinds of Communions suits for boys. They even have a 5-set Khaki Suit with the shirt and tie. Their suits come in all shades -- Black, White,Blue, Olive, Brown-and their suits are made of practically ALL types of clothing material including Corduroy, Wool, Cotton, Polyester and Khaki. The nicest ones however seem to be their Khaki suits. To see their complete suit collection you may go online to http://roseybearboutique.com. This place also offers striped socks to add accent to the whole suit. The best part about this store is that their prices are reasonable.

One of a Kind shows a classic garbadine double-breasted Communion suit in all basic colors. They are made of poly/rayon and can only be dry cleaned. (Ref: http://oneofakind.com). On the other hand, St Jude's Shop offers a basic Navy blue Communion suit with tie for less than 60 dollars. (http://stjudeshop.com). St Jude's shop is a Catholic Apparel store which may not offer all of the designs that other stores offer but they do have every kind of religious apparel, books, Church supplies and other Catholic "things".

There are ebay sellers too who sell Communion suits at the most reasonable prices. Some ebay sellers manage to sell then below 35 dollars. An ebay seller "tuxsuitandmore" seems to specialize in kid's suits for special events. For 34 dollars, you can purchase a classic elegant 5 piece suit which includes a fully lined jacket (single breasted 2 button style), pants with elastic waist fit, matching fully lined vest and a matching classy tie. There are hundred of other sellers at ebay and even Amazon who offer suits for kids with a guarantee that you'll get your purchase in the mail within three days.

What your boy wears on his First Holy Communion - a memorable day in his life -matters. Thus, if you have the money, it is worth it to buy the best. After all, remember that there will always be THAT favorite First Holy Communion picture that you and him will display proudly in your home. He will always remember what suit he was wearing on that day (and so will you) and it would be nice to later hear him say : "Mom bought me the best suit.. ", as he flaunts his kiddie pics much later in his life.
