The first step in deciding whether or not to buy online is in knowing what you want. What features are you looking for? Do you have a particular model in mind? If you happen to know exactly what you want then you can quickly and easily find it online and save a lot of money over buying it at a retail store. Not to mention you don't even have to leave home in order to do it.
When looking at various treadmills, check that they have the features you really need. Getting one that doesn't have everything you want is only going to lead to frustration later on. Similarly, spending more money than you need to on a particular treadmill that has options you would never use is not money well spent.
Be sure to check out the warranty coverage. Avoid those with only a 90 day or 180 day warranty at all cost. If the unit does not have at least a one-year warranty I would move on. A 2-year warranty is even better and shows the company stands behind their product. You may also want to consider buying an extended warranty if you are purchasing a treadmill over $1500.
Another thing to look for is online reviews of how well the treadmill, and the company, performs. Is the unit a well made machine? How is their customer support in responding to questions and repair issues? These are important questions because you may have to deal with a problem one day.
Knowing what to look for before buying a treadmill online can help you in making your best possible decision.
