How to Buy a Used Car & Avoid a Bad Deal

Research: Online and in the newspaper is your best way to find a great used car. The only other way I truly can think of is through a close friend or family member. At least they will be more upfront if there is any problems wrong with the vehicle they know of.

Inspection: Always arrange for an inspection on the vehicle you are interested in regardless if it is yourself or someone who is certified. Used cars can be abused and you don't want to get yourself into a lemon. There is many services offered online to actually find out the cars history.

Some things you should always check is:

1. How many owners the vehicle has had.
2. How many miles are on the vehicle and also
3. How much wear and tear has been on the vehicle?
4. Do the Blinkers, Lights, Horn & windows all work.
5. Any engine codes or lights turned on given warnings.
6. How are the tread on the tires?
7. Does the car stare and drive fine?
8. Is there any weird noises or smells?

Caution: Always take caution while buying a used vehicle and always ask a lot of questions. When was the last time the car was registered or tagged and stickered? Depending on the state you live in there could be additional & costly fee's if the vehicle has not been. Most of all you do not want to be scammed.

Price or Value: Is the car actually worth the value they are asking? There are many services on the internet that will offer you an exact price reputation such a Blue Book Value. These are things you always need to keep in mind. Also if there is problems with the car are the value worth spending the parts & labor it takes to repair the vehicle? Such as would you buy a vehicle with a bad engine for a small amount and pay less getting it fixed or more? These are all things you should take into consideration while buying or looking for a vehicle.

Buying: Always get Proof of Sale and a valid autographed recipe and the titled signed and properly dated in the correct spots by buyer and owner. I would highly recommend not buying a used car on payment. Many people do this and find them self in a bad situation when the vehicle suddenly stops working. You maybe stuck with payments on a vehicle and any or all labor and parts that need to be fixed. And with some situation's you have to buy a totally new vehicle and you are still stuck with payments or the chance to have bad credit. If you do buy a used vehicle on payments make sure it's something that has been inspected correctly and you know everything that is wrong or can go wrong with the vehicle.

Take time and always make the right choices.
