I ordered a crystal ball from Wiccansupplier.com and it was better than described in their photos.
The item description said it was 80mm and clear. I remember seeing my mother's crystal ball that was a very small clear facetted crystal ball. I knew I wanted a larger size than my mothers so I searched and every where I looked they wanted at least $25.00 plus shipping and handling. Since I need this for the services I offer at http://wiccanchurch.webs.com/ I didn't want it to look like this huge ball the size of my head either.
Crystal balls have many uses. Not only are they used for fortune telling but they can also be used as decoration and to help aide you in your magical workings. When used for fortune telling you must practice many times before you get it right. I believe meditation is essential before you start your session. It does not have to be a long drawn out meditation either just enough to clear your mind and focus. Then you will need to cast your circle if you have not done so already. Then you are ready to call the corners and invite the god and goddess to join you and help guide you. So as you can see when trying to see into someone's future a clear crystal ball is ideal because you can have problems getting a clear view of what is going on than if your crystal ball was made of marble.
As a home decoration a crystal ball would go great with any Egyptian, Asian, or mythical theme's. You could even use it as a country theme by taking potpourri, your favorite candle, and vase and placing the potpourri on your kitchen table. Then you should place you candle in the vase and set it on one side of the table where you have the potpourri. On the opposite side place your crystal ball. You may accentuate this by incorporating rose petals around the outside of the potpourri.
To aide you in your magical workings also referred to as "magickal" workings. Set up your Wiccanaltar and make sure you have blessed and consecrated all of your tools this includes your crystal ball. When choosing a crystal ball you need to read the description and make sure the item will fit your everyday spell needs. Now that you have already blessed and consecrated your crystal ball it is ready to be placed on your altar and be used as needed.
