How Buying a Music CD Can Help You to Celebrate Earth Day

Going "Green" is a term frequently used now. People from all over the United States are learning ways to make their environment better, including record companies. Earth day approaches in 2008 on April twenty-second. Many will celebrate this day by planting new flowers, trees or finding a way to become more eco-friendly to the earth. One way to help celebrate Earth Day is to buy a recyclable cd case of your favorite band.

There are now several companies that are producing their cd packages in one-hundred percent recyclable and biodegradable material. Such artists like The Counting Crows and Melissa Etheridge have their cd packages made out of recyclable and biodegradable. The outer sides of these two albums by these two artists look the same as if they were made out of the plastic normally seen cds being cased in. These cases are just as sturdy, holding the cds in place just as plastic would.

Along with the new eco-friendly packaging, some cd packages are offering a square insert included. The square insert is made out of recyclable material with one catch: the material includes wildflower seeds. This means that when you wish to you can plant the square in soil, keep moist and with proper sunlight you can grow something.

Since earlier this year, some record companies have been releasing greatest hits of artists or re-releasing other artists' work in this new packaging. Going "Green" has hit the music market with a storm. Many companies producing music in the "greenest" way they can appealing to those that wish to make a difference and teaching teenagers who make up a lot of their consumers what it means to help the environment.Universal Canadaoffers a whole "Green" series of artists using recyclable material for their casings that started in January. Many others such as The Island Def Jam Groupand Geffen Recordsare also showing their artists in the new "Green" look.

As Earth day approaches people will think of ways to make the earth better. Some of these ways maybe to plant that tree, make a new garden, find a way to volunteer at organizations to planting new flowers. However, there is yet another way to help the environment and be able to listen to your favorite music at the same time. The appeal to all generations can be noted and you can help the earth at the same time.
