Candles are one of the oldest elements of home decorating present in many homes of today. From the table to the bedroom, candles have their place in the home and look great with any décor. Candle light is not only one of the most flattering lights, but has also been said to be one of the most relaxing. It is one of the best forms of natural light, and is calming to the senses. I have over fifty candles in my home, in every room of the home, and when the sun goes down - I create a relaxing home atmosphere to wash away the stress of the day with soft music and candle light.

Fragrance free candles made from soy are smokeless and are perfect for the kitchen, as well as the bedroom. These candles are made of very hard wax, and last the longest of any candles that I have had experience with.

In the bathroom, a series of shelves could be placed on the walls that could hold a variety of candles in varying heights. This could turn your everyday bathroom into a spa like experience with bubbles, and natural light.

To use candles as a light source in the kitchen or dining room consider a chandelier that has been made specifically to accommodate candles. Ensure that these candles are of neutral colors, and match the décor of the room. You will never want to eat with unnatural light again.

Alternative to a chandelier consider a large focal point with candles as a centerpiece for your dining room table. Candlesticks are a classic dining room centerpiece that never goes out of style. Long tapered candles in shiny candlesticks look best in pairs, or multiples. Many prefer that the candlesticks be raised from the table on some sort of platform to create even more of a dramatic effect.

There is no surface in the bedroom that is wrong for candles. From nightstands to tall tables that can be filled with varying shapes and sizes of candles that match the décor of the bedroom, they scream romance.

Candle sconces in the bedroom not only add romance, but a safe place to burn the candle. They add an interesting piece of architecture to the room, especially, when painted in the same color, or tone as the wall.

Many candleholders are available in forms that are as tall as tables, with large multiple wick candles. These are perfect for any room of the house. Using these tips to incorporate candle light into your life, will leave you relaxed and looking great in candlelight, ready to enjoy the evening.
