How Do I Use Canon Digital Lens

GFCosmo
The Canon L series 100-400mm digital telephoto lens is used on digital SLR cameras and provides an increased zoom capability over the standard lens that comes with most Canon digital SLR cameras. The 100-400mm lens is used just like all other Canon lenses, so learning how to use this specific lens is not going to be a tough transition. If you have never used a camera before you are going to find attaching and using the digital zoom lens a rather easy process.

Attach the lens to the camera. Look on the bottom of the Canon L series 100-400mm digital lens. There is a small red dot on the lens. Match it up with the red dot on the Canon L series camera (in the lens mount). These are guide points designed to help you correctly install the lens onto your Canon camera.

Slide the lens into the location and twist it gently to the right. This locks the lens into place. Once the lens locks into position its not going to twist off at all.

Remove the lens cap from the front of the lens (always place the cap back onto the camera after you have finished using the camera). The cap protects the lens from accidental cracks, dust and other debris.

Turn the zoom ring to the ring. This zooms closer to the desired object. Twist the zoom ring to the left to zoom out of the object. If you don't want to manually adjust the zoom yourself your Canon digital SLR camera may have a zoom button that increases or decreases the zoom on the camera without turning the zoom ring.

Adjust the focus ring (nearest to the front of the lens) to adjust the focus of the Canon L series 100-400mm lens. As with the focus ring you can have the camera perform the focus for you automatically. Adjust the switch on the front of the camera by the lens that states "Auto/Manual" to "Auto." This tells the digital camera to perform the focus process itself.

Removing the lens from your Canon digital camera is a similar process to installing it. Hold down the button along the side of the lens and twist it to the left. The lens twists off and slides directly out of the camera. With the lens off place the provided camera cap onto the open connection port of the camera to prevent any dust from collecting on the inside of the digital camera.
