How to Get Your Car on the MTV's Pimp My Ride!
A Few Ideas and Suggestions
If you are an MTV fan then you have probably heard of the show pimp my ride. This is actually one of the most popular shows on MTV. But how can you get your car on the show? Well obviously you are going to have to make a submission, but how can you make them want to fix over your car?
The first thing that you will notice when you watch the show is that all of the cars are run down and eaten up. They pretty much are almost on their last leg cosmetically. So of course you car will have to be in some sort of running condition. As with any submission that you submit to a network you are really going to have to work hard at selling your beat up car. It's not so much yourself that has to be sold but the car and what you need it for.
Of course you don't want to make anything up, but the sadder your story is the more MTV will probably like it. Remember that you have to stand out from the rest. Maybe you are in to classic cars, and you bout one but it looks horrible then you should submit to be on the show. Remember that when you are taping your video of your car show it from all of the worst angles. The goal here is to make your car look bad not good. Try zooming in on the rusted spots and the bald tires if you have any.
Before you even think about submitting your tape, make sure that you watch it first, and compare your car to the ones that have already appeared on the show. Then ask yourself some of the following questions. Does my car look just like the ones that have already been on the show? Have they already had my model car on the show? If you answered yet to these questions then there is really no need for you to submit an entry. What they want is something different?
Remember even if your career is different or if you use the vehicle for work that might help your chances of appearing on the show. If you have tried to make any modifications of your own be sure to highlight this in your video tape. So the bottom line is that if you really want to get on "Pimp MY Ride" you have got to have the right ride and of course the right circumstances to really make it work. I gave her a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has about had it. the motor still runs pretty good, has over 150,000 on it but the interior headlining is falling, the deck lid has to propped up when opening. paint is terrible. Brittney is a victiom of a husband gone bad due to drug use. She is trying very hard to take care of the two girls and she is worjking everyday at a new job that her grandmoter helped her get and a local lighting company. My fiance has a 73 ford mustang thats in worse shape of anything iv seen on the show ,Her Mother bought it for her in the early 90s, and her mother passed last (2010) on Thanksgiving Day , Her main dream in life was to have her Mustang fixed up for her adopted 12 yr. old son, She was a workaholic an got in a auto accident in 05 an has a steel plate from c-3 to c-7 , so she has not worked since, she has gave up on her dream,do to many hardships since her accident, she still will not part with this car she always says Skyler ( her son) can fix it up if something happens to her out of her life ins. I keep telling her im gonna take it to the junk yard and she goes to having a fit , I really wish you all could help us fix her car up, It would really mean the world to her. i recently started a surprize project for my 75 old dad,being he is 75 time is an issuue for me so i got a local custom painter /assemler to get started on my project he had the car an all the parts needed to completely assemblethis car once it was painted,he coned me good ,he sold all the parts took all my money for the paint an assembly an then just disappeared.it took all my saving to do this for my dad ,it was gonna be a great day for him to get this car while he was still with us an now this so called custom painted robbed my of that great day that i was gonna presnt this to him,it was my life long dream to be able to make him this proud of me,to do something so great for my dad,he was a hot rodder from the 60;s he would have loved this surprize..but now itll never happen ,i simply cant aford to do this again.so plz if you can help me ...well plz consider it ,,i yruely could use ur help,,thanks for ur time.325-518-6703 danny or texasrader2000@yahoo.com
