If you happen to hear a strange noise in the middle of the night hit your "panic" button! The alarm goes off and will continue to sound until you shut it off or the battery dies. The new alarm systems are not like the older ones. We control them to a greater degree and have a greater distance of control that keeps you at least 100 yards away from what is going on. Just like alarms for your home, invaders are detoured from the crime if and alarm is in place and active. Statistically, thieves and burglars look for houses that do not display a home security system sign.
Even if you don't have a system having a sign that says you do cant help tremendously along the same lines is dummy cameras and having more than one car in the driveway moved periodically can also help. There's just no way for them to be sure that you don't have a system or are not home. No activity on the property for days at a time and no exterior lighting can also be an invitation.
One the same lines is having a medical emergency and don't have access to a phone at the time. If you were hurt or could not call for help hit your "panic" button neighbors might take notice and call help for you! We all know that in these unsure times security has become of paramount importance, anything we do to make ourselves safer is always welcome. I hope this small article helps; there is more work to do obviously but it's a small start. So keep your car key button handy--- Always!
