I'll explain it in a step by step directions to make it easily understood.
Thing's you will need:
1. Hand held cassette player, or any for that matter.
2. Cheap headphones, You will need to ruin these so make sure you don't need them!
3. Recording Software.
4. Soldier Gun with Solder
5. Black Tape
6. Or forget step 2. 3. 4. 5. and get a dual jack headset chord.
Basically what you need is a plug that goes from headphone jack to your input jack or microphone jack on your computer either will work,
If you do not have a headphone jack on your stereo cassette player this is where the headphones come into play basically you will need to cut the head phones wire exposing the wires and connect them to each speaker you have on the cassette player. I highly recommend stripping the wires then soldering them to the speaker wires but if you want this to be temporarily you can just use tape and directly tape the wires for the head phones to the speakers once you get that connect it to your laptop or computer via the input sound jack or the microphone jack either will work.
So like I was saying either you have the setup where you connect a two way jack from headset to input jack or microphone jack or a setup where you have the speakers ran to the headphone jack which connects to the input or microphone jack.
Hopefully i am not confusing you. Each wire on the headphone jack will have a set of two just connect that to the speakers for each side and your ready to go. From there you will have to download or already have installed a software for recording audio there is many free one's you can easily do a search on your favorite search engine for an example ' free audio recording software ' and get a huge list. Once you have the software click record and hit play on the cassette player!
It's as easy as that really, Again it gets a little more complicated if you have to split wires that's why I recommend getting a cheap hand held cassette player and buying a dual plug and just plug it directly in from cassette headset to input or microphone jack. Then hit record. Of course you will probably have to play with your sound mixer and make sure your input or microphone is selected and has proper volume on it.
Now all you have to do is save the file as a .mp3 and from there you can use your favorite burn software to make it into a cd from Mp3.
Hopefully this has helped you take care and God Bless.
