How to get your CD or DVD out from your desktop when the push button does not work?

Have you ever run into a problem of not being able to get your CD or DVD out from your computer CD or DVD ROM? Or have you ever experienced you forgot your CD or DVD in your computer after you have turned off your computer?

And if you have, what do you do? We may do two things if the push button does not work. We can either push the button a few times or turn the computer on and off a few times with a hope that we may strike luck and it will open. Or we may wait till we are free to take the computer down the shop near by to have it fixed.

It may be easier in the case that we turn off the computer where we forget our CD in the CD ROM. But we still have to wait for a while to turn on the computer to get it our and wait for some other while to turn it off.

But there is a mechanical way to get the CD out easy without having to go through all the hassle. All we need is a tiny little needle like stick. It can be a tooth pick or any other similar objects. What I normally use is a paper clip and stretch one section out straight.

Now look for a small hole which is situated near to the push button in front of the CD Rom. Insert the rod into the hole and push it. The CD Rom will then spring out just like a normal button push.

The hole is designed for a manual operation in case the electrical system does not function. It will not cause any harm to the Rom. It serves only as an emergency remedy to get the CD out from the case. It will function normally next time you push the button again.

So, give it a try when you run into the problem with your CD Rom.
