The Sedu™ flat irons run about $129.95, which may seem exspensive but this flat iron is apparently a cinch to use once you are used to it. Experts recommend that you condition with good quality hair conditioner and use a good shampoo as a basis for all heat intensive styling tools. Leave-in conditioner is a good option for just before you style your hair.
The basics of hair care apply to achieving the best possible Sedu™ style for your type of hair. Experts recommend washing and conditioning regularly and getting the ends trimmed every 6 weeks. No amount of conditioning can cure split ends which can be worsened by heat, be sure to have your ends trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks.
The Sedu™ isn't the only flat iron with gemstone crystals; many flat iron styling tools are available online and in stores and salons. Unlike traditional flat iron styling tools flat irons with gemstone plates as their heating elements provide an ultra-smooth surface to prevent tugging on the hair which can cause it to break. They also give hair a negative ionic charge taming frizz and adding shine. These plates probably account for their high prices.
The basic Sedu™ hairstyle is fairly simple to create and can be done with all lengths and textures of hair, it is recommended that you read the entire owner's manual at least once or twice and having it on hand during your first few uses. Basic instructions are as follows:
Style One: Separate hair into 2-inch sections, place sections between flat iron plates, squeeze iron handles together sandwiching the hair between the plates move from root to end. This will create a flat and straight style.
Style Two: Place a 2 inch section into the flat iron. Squeezing the handles together from root to end, once you reach the end wind hair around the plates. This will create a style with soft curls.
Style Three: Place each 2-inch section into the plates of the flat iron. Squeeze handles together from root to end flip ends out slightly. This will create a style with the ends flipped out slightly.
Style Four: Place sections into the iron pressing the handle pieces together upon reaching the end of each section flip the ends in slightly. This will create a style with the ends flipped in.
Finish with a conditioning spray and/or a hair spray. Have fun.
