The best thing you can do for yourself to improve your life, is to find a purpose. Finding what you truly want to do with your life can motivate you to increase your quality of living, and give you a reason to wake up every morning. If you are stuck at a dead end job, take a little time off to pursue a life long dream or hobby. The next time you are given a couple of vacation days, spend that time doing something you love, instead of sleeping on the coach all day.

These include anything from taking a morning jog to better your health, to practicing a five minute mediation before you go to bed. Spending a couple minutes a day in meditative thinking, summing up all the negative issues of the day, and putting yourself into a more relaxed mood is one of the best things you can do for your mental health.
Alongside improving your life in the mental realm, you can think positively to help change your situation. Positive thinking has been proven to show results in those who are truly committed. If you go about your day thinking of all the negative things that could arise, or how bad your life sucks, chances are bad things will happen that will make your life suck. On the contrary if you think positively and take a more active approach to the negative aspects of life, you set yourself up for an improvement and better life.
