This is written by an amateur with no mechanical experience other than my own do it yourself maintenance. This article assumes that you know how to change your oil, now you need help with the oil filter or relocation kit.

Step 1 = Gather all your necessary supplies. Warm up bike for a moment, turn off, and drain oil.
Step 2 = Loosen and drop foot rest.
Step 3 = Remove lower exhaust pipe. Remove rear portion first.
Step 4 = Remove front lower exhaust.
Step 5 = Remove decorative chrome cover plate. Five screws hold it on.
Step 6 = Remove oil filter housing/cover and then remove oil filter.
Step 7 = If you are just changing the oil filter- replace filter now and reverse the steps. Add oil. Check for leaks.

Continue on if you are adding a relocation kit. Take red and black "O" rings off old oil filter housing and place them on the new oil relocation kit's diverter/housing.
Step 8 = Slide new oil diverter into place where the old oil filter housing went. Attach with 3 screws.
Step 9 = Unscrew clasp on new relocation oil diverter. (This can be done before step 8) Then bend flexible arms around to fit clasp around crossbar in front. Screw into place.
Step 10 = Screw on oil filter housing and filter near crossbar. Add oil. Check for leaks.
Now your oil filter is so easily accessible.
