How to Change Your Twitter Background

Have you ever shown up to an event totally excited about the new outfit that you bought just for this occasion only to find that someone else is wearing the exact same thing? The horror!

Well, that's kind of the same thing as having the same Twitter background as someone else. Not only is it boring, but it labels you as unoriginal and uncreative. And the worst part is that it's super-easy to change your Twitter background! It only takes a few minutes at the most and yet it goes a long way in making sure that people's first impression of you and your Twitter profile is a good one.

Twitter offers 12 basic themes to its users to choose from. But remember that there will thousands of other people using the same theme. And what's the fun in that? So my advice is to nix the default Twitter themes altogether and instead use a background image that reflects you and your unique style.

If you have no idea where to start, my suggestion would be to just do a Google Search for "backgrounds" and start looking through different websites that offer thousands of backgrounds for you to choose from.

You may already have a background image in your possession, saved somewhere on your computer. Maybe there's a desktop wallpaper that you really love or a favorite photo.

Perhaps you're the adventurous type and want to try to create your own customized Twitter background but you're not exactly a graphic artist and have no idea where to start. No problem, you can search for sites that will help you create a custom Twitter background. All you do is select a template and fill in your own information. Some of them even let you add links to your website or social media networks.

Once you have selected the perfect image for your Twitter background, you can set it as your Twitter background in just a few simple steps.

Go to Settings from your Twitter profile. Once you're there, click on Design and then select Change Background Image. This is where you're going to upload your background image to Twitter. Simply click Browse, find your background image and save your changes.

After you've done that, click on Change Design Colors. Here you'll be able to change the colors of your background, text, links, sidebar and sidebar border to blend perfectly with your new Twitter background image.

That's all there is to it! Now your Twitter profile will truly reflect you and your sparkling personality.
