Overview
The Internal Revenue Service requires each taxpayer to file a tax return every year. They will send you a refund if you have overpaid your tax debt to the federal government the previous year. Unfortunately, the payment process can take a bit of time, especially if you have waited until the last minute to file. You can check the status of your tax return online as long as you have your tax return in hand so that you can provide a few basic facts as proof of identity.
