The following workaround can be applied to any phone or other device equipped with the Android operating system that can browse the web, either through WiFi, 3G or other wireless carrier networks.
Keep in mind that the only disadvantage to this is that you will not receive alerts each time you have a new email. You will need to open Yahoo to view your new messages.
How to Get Yahoo!Email on Your Android Phone or Other Device
Open your web browser of choice on your Android phone or device and navigate to "m.yahoo.com." Click or tap "Mail." Sign into your Yahoo account. If the browser asks to save your user name and password, selecting yes will increase the speed in which you can access your email but will reduce the security as it is not recommended to save passwords in any mobile devices.
Once you are logged into your email, press the "Menu" button and create a bookmark on the page. This is the equivalent to creating a bookmark on your computer's browser.
Return to the Android phone's home screen and press the "Menu" button. Then click "Add" to get to the "Add to Home screen" window. Select "Shortcuts." From the "Select shortcut" menu, select "Bookmark." Then navigate to the Yahoo mail bookmark and select it. This will place an icon on your Android device's home screen that will take you directly to Yahoo's web-based email page.
To access your Yahoo email, you need only click on the icon for the bookmark shortcut, located on the home screen.
In the event that you do not want the icon displayed on your home screen, simply hold your finger on the icon until the phone vibrates, at which point you can drag it to the trash can icon that appears. You will still be able to access the bookmark through your web browser, as this does not delete the bookmark; it only removes it from your home screen.
