How to Make Chocolate a Special Gift

Stephanie Manning
Whether it's Valentine's Day or not you can still make chocolate a special and memorable gift! First off, start with the occasion. What is the reason you are giving the gift? Is it for a birthday, anniversary, get well gift or something else? Do you want it to be a simple but sweet gift, or do you want it to be an elaborate, memorable gift.

Start by deciding what type of chocolate you want to give; white, dark, milk chocolate, or maybe an assortment. You can find mass assortments of chocolate at a local gift shop, or bakery. To make it a more personal gift, try your luck in the kitchen and make the chocolate homemade.

Giving homemade gifts always shows that you put in a lot of time and effort to make the gift special and that it comes from the heart! You can find hundreds of recipes online, or in one of your favorite cookbooks. To add another special touch you may also want to create your chocolate pieces in a specific shape or design to go with your occasion. For example if your gift is for an anniversary you may want to use heart shaped molds. You may also want to food colorings if you are using white chocolate.

After selecting your chocolate, determine how you want to present it. If it's homemade you will need to find a container to put it in. A nice tin or basket will do just fine. Once you have your container, line it with a nice filler like a matching tissue paper. Then you can place your chocolate on top of the filler giving it a nice orderly look. You may want to finish it off with a nice ribbon or bow. If its store bought, how about finding a nice rapping paper or gift bag? That, too, will help your to add a little style and personal touch to your gift.

Now that you have your chocolate, your container and your occasion, you are ready for your special gift giving. Depending on the occasion and circumstances, you may want to incorporate a greeting card, bottle of wine, candles ...or maybe even a kiss for that special one!
