Compression
The first thing that should determine your choice of arthritis gloves is the compression. Some gloves will compress your hands too much and restrict your movement. Other gloves don't provide enough compression and will allow your hands to swell. You need an arthritis glove that provides gentle, even compression. It must have enough compression without a lot of restriction.
Versatility
Something else to consider about arthritis gloves is their versatility. Some gloves are only designed to be worn during the day or night. Others are designed to be worn during hand activity or rest. If you frequently use your hands for activities, then get an arthritis glove for activity and day use. If your arthritis gives you problems at night, then get one designed for night and rest.
Function
If you wear your arthritis gloves during the day, you will still need to do everyday tasks. It is important for the glove to be designed to allow these tasks to be completed easily. You should think about an arthritis glove that features an open-finger design. That way, you can still use your fingers easily, while enjoying the protection of other parts of your hand.
Ease of Use
Since you have arthritis, it may be difficult for you to put your arthritis gloves on. It's best that you choose a glove that is easy to put on and remove. Some designs feature special slots near the wrist that make this easier. You should also make sure the arthritis glove is machine-washable so it's easy to clean.
Seams
One of the last things to consider is the use of seams. The seams on arthritis gloves can cause irritation to painful areas. They can also cause pressure points. If possible, you should choose a type that has seams on the outside of the arthritis glove. This will eliminate pressure points and reduce irritation.
These are the things you should think about before buying a pair of arthritis gloves. Make sure the compression controls swelling while not restricting you too much. If possible, choose an arthritis glove with outside seams that is easy to put on and take off.
