How to Choose the Best Bridal Party (or Bridesmaids) Dress for Wedding Day

Choosing the perfect bridesmaids dress can be more difficult than choosing the Bridal Gown. We've put together some tips to help you make the best decision for your entire wedding party.

Start by choosing your color scheme:
Not everyone looks good in the same color. Finding colors that look great on everyone can be a challenge. Take into account your parties hair and skin color. You might want to ask your bridesmaids if there is a certain color they do not want to wear. Safe color options that look great on almost everyone are silver, black or red.

Decide on Dress length:
Length can play a big role in finding a flattering dress. If you are considering a shorter length dress, they may not flatter a full figured bridesmaid. If you have a full figured bridesmaid, you might want to consider a hem hitting at mid calf or longer.

Mix it up:
It has always been common place to allow the maid of honor to wear a different colored dress than the other attendants. Todays brides are allowing their attendants to choose dresses in different styles and cuts. The trick to pulling this off is by making sure that though the dresses do not match each other, they compliment one another. Dress makers have begun to group together collections that follow this trend, allowing a perfect choice for each bridesmaids personal style and preference.

Consider Body Types:
If you decide to go with identical dresses, you need to think about body types. If the dress is unflattering, your attendants will feel uncomfortable. Think about the women you love, and have asked to share this special day with you. Ask their opinion on what they feel comfortable wearing. Do they feel uncomfortable showing their arms? Do they need more coverage in the bust area? Taking these tips into consideration, and having an open line of communication with your attendants, will help make the search for a perfect dress easier on everyone.
