How to Choose a Jogging Stroller

Get Back in Shape After Pregnancy!

We all know that having a baby often adds unwanted pounds to your waistline. While most women would not trade their children for the bodies they had before having kids, they are often discouraged by the fact that they can no longer fit into their pre-baby clothes. One option to get back into pre-baby shape is to join a gym. This is expensive, however, and most families with new babies simply do not have the extra money. Another problem with joining a gym is that many gyms do not provide childcare, so unless you have easy access to baby sitting you may never use your gym membership.

One of the best options to get yourself back into your workout routine after having a baby is a jogging stroller. Jogging strollers usually have larger wheels than normal strollers and sometimes have three wheels instead of four. The design of these wheels keeps the stroller stable while you are jogging behind. With a jogging stroller you can start jogging as soon as your baby can hold his head up. This means you can get back in shape before your baby turns one!

A quality jogging stroller will have a fixed front wheel. Traditional strollers and some models of jogging strollers have front wheels that swivel. A swivel wheeled stroller does not work well for jogging, because the stroller can veer off track. Also, a fixed front wheel will not jar your baby as much as a swivel front wheel if you should hit a bump on the road.

Jogging strollers come with either aluminum alloy or steel wheels. Alloy wheels costs a little more than steel, but they will not rust. This makes alloy wheels a necessity for those moms in areas that have frequent rains or snow. Another benefit of alloy wheels is that they are lighter than steel wheels, making your jog easier.

If you intend to jog while your baby is still an infant you want to buy a stroller with a reclining seat. The motion your baby will experience while out in the jogging stroller will probably soothe him and put him to sleep. A reclining seat will help him to stay comfortable. Be sure that the straps are secure and will keep your baby in place while you continue to jog.

One benefit of purchasing a jogging stroller is that your baby will learn to enjoy going for a jog with you. If you can get your baby accustomed to the stroller at a young age, it will become a part of his life, and you will not face as many struggles when it comes time to work out. Make sure the stroller is comfortable for your baby, though, so that he will enjoy the jog as much as you do.

With a jogging stroller you can get back into the shape that you want without needing to leave your baby behind while you work out. You can teach your children to value fitness and make exercising a fun event for the whole family. If you are serious about getting back into pre-baby shape, then you need a jogging stroller!
