It is essential that a butterfly hutch have slits large enough for butterflies to enter yet to small for any predators to gain entry. The interior of the hutch should also contain pieces of bark so the butterflies can nest there.

Butterfly Gardens Provide Nourishment

In order to attract many butterflies into your butterfly garden you should provide them with food and water. The butterflies that arrive in in your yard will find what they need and bring you joy. The various plants and flowers you plant in your garden will provide the butterflies with nectar however; you can help nature along by providing feeders full of sugar water. You may choose to leave some sugar water out in saucers that are scattered about your garden or even a piece of over ripe fruit to attract the various butterflies in your area. You may want to place a small birdbath in your garden as well, since butterflies need water.
