Also if you graduate from a more well known game design school you are more likely to get a higher end job right out of college.
Are you willing to move to a new town for your degree? Debating whether to choose a school close to your home town or far away can be a tough choice. The most proactive way to decide is to create a list of pros and cons of relocating for your game design degree.
How fast do you want to get your degree? Game design schools offer many programs that offer certificate of completion of basic training within a year of school. If you are looking to go far in the game design industry there are many schools that offer a four year bachelor's degree program. The longer you spend at school taking classes and learning more the more opportunities you will have when you graduate. Deciding what school has the right program for you will be a matter of how far in the industry you are wanting to go.
Overall game design is an excellent field of study for those interested in gaming. If you are wanting to learn about design because you are interested in it, or you are looking for a degree that will offer many job opportunities then game design is your choice. As long as you follow these basic guidelines and ask yourself these questions you will be on your way to a game design school suited for you and a stable career for the future.
