How to Make a Christmas ABC Scrapbook Memory Album
Help Your Child Learn the ABC's This Holiday Season!
ABC Christmas Scrapbook Memory album - all about them and their family!. Something they can learn with this year, but bring out in years to come for fun and memories! So with the Christmas holidays approaching, start now and have your child's Christmas ABC Scrapbook Memory album ready so they have lots of time to enjoy it while they learn.
Some suggestions to get you started in your search for images, pictures and "things" to use in your scrapbook ABC Christmas scrapbook album is to look at your own photos of your family's past and try to use those in the album - For instance the B for "building a snowman" - do you have a photo of family members building a snowman in previous years? That'd be the perfect item for B! I did a page for P and used a Poem for Papa and it was accompanied with a photo of my grand daughter and her Papa. You can use a specific item or a phrase to display the letter. We live in Sourthern California so there is no snow on Christmas Day. So in my scrapbook album, on the S page I have "A Sunshine Christmas Day". When using a phrase, just make the letter a capital and the rest lower case - sUgar rUsh for the letter U - or the letter in RED and the rest green to set the letter out. You can do one letter item on each page or several to alot of letter items on each page - whatever you choose.
Check out the scrapbook sticker isle at the craft stores, (especially on 40% off week)!. Look at die cuts and 3-D scrapbook embellishments. You can use magazine pictures/cut outs or your child's own personal art work. Look at christmas cards you saved from last year. Gift tags you might purchase to use this year - check the design.. what letter can you use it for?! Images from christmas wrappng paper. Just look around! Keep your eyes open, and when all else fails, go back to the scrapbook sticker isle!
I would suggest using just white cardstock for each page - cut 26 "pages" of white cardstock the size you want. However, if you want to choose a beautiful pattern paper or colorful solid cardstock - do it! For this project, the only limit is in your own imagination!
For each letter, just buy a scrapbook sticker sheet of the letters in red and green. They come in a large assortment of styles and color. But red and green might be a good way to go to keep some organization within the scrapbook album once it is done. Also get a red and green acid free scrapbook marker pen or gel pen to do the writting. However, if you want to add more color - chose any color pen you'd like!
What kind of album do you get? You can buy nice post bound scrapbook album - most any size you want. I did an 4x6, but you can do a 8x10 or a 12x12! A spirl scrapbook album is nice, but it is sometimes hard to find page scrapbook page protectors to fit a spiral album, but don't fret...just be careful with it! Another thing you can teach your child the fun way. Be careful! You can use regular "office store" 8x10 page proctectors and a 3 ring notebook.
So here is a list of letter items to get you started thinking and creating the pages for your Christmas ABC Scrapbook album. Once you get going, you'll think of things that you can use that honor or specialize your own famliy's christmas holiday heritage and tradtiions. Even think about YOUR past christmas' when you were little and get an embellishment about that - now you are creating memories both for you and your child (most kids love to hear about when Mom and Dad were little - back in the "olden days"!).
