How to Use a Clay Facial Mask
Wash your face with an oil-control cleanser. Use a damp rap and scrub the face in circular motions. Rinse the skin clean using warm water.
Fill a sink with hot steaming water. Place a towel over your head, capturing the steam. Allow the steam to open your pores for several minutes.
Pat your face dry with a soft towel. Squirt a quarter-sized amount of clay mask onto your fingertips.
Rub the clay on to your face starting at the forehead and working down to the chin. Allow the mask to set for 30 minutes.
Rinse the mask off with warm water. Dab cotton balls in toner. Tone the face with the cotton balls by rubbing the dampened balls over the areas that are prone to be oily.
Moisturize your skin working from the neck upwards.
Homemade Clay Masks
Homemade clay masks are fresh and you can mix them up in a flash. Try this basic recipe for an at home clay mask. Mix 4tablespoons of French clay with 5 dried bay leaves in a saucepan. Add one cup of distilled water. Mix the ingredients together and turn off the heat after it boils. Allow the clay to cool completely before apply it to your face. Find French clay at your local beauty store.
Recommended Clay Masks
Try inexpensive brands like St. Ives, Neutrogena and Oil of Olay masks. Store brands from CVS, WalMart and Costco come in foil packs and are pretty cheap.
