How to Clean a Budgie Parakeet's Cage

It is important to keep the cage of your budgie or budgies clean. Budgies are more commonly referred to as parakeets but the name budgie stems from their official name, budgerigar. No matter what you prefer to call them they need a clean cage to maintain a happy and healthy life. There are some key things that you should do when you clean your parakeet's cage.

One of the first thing that you should keep in mind when cleaning a parakeet's cage or something that you will want to make sure that your child thinks about when cleaning a budgie's cage is how often it needs to be done. Although it is something that you will have to do regularly it is not something that is hard. Once a week you should wipe the cage down with a non-toxic cleaner that is bird safe, like the one found on Budgiekeet.com. In addition to using the cleaner you will want to use a clean damp rag to wipe the cage again to remove any residue from the cleaner.
