Things Needed:
1. Broke DVD or CD Player
2. Phillips Head & Flat Head Screw Driver
3. Cotton Swabs
4. Alcohol
Instructions:
1. You will need to take the Unit apart to expose the laser lens this is the small circle clear glass looking thing located where the CD or DVD Spins, Most the time it will be within reach and you don't have to take the Unit apart. With some unit the CD or DVD Player brings the CD or DVD into the unit this will result in you have to take all the screws out of the bottom of the unit and dissembling the Unit. If you have problems doing this use your favorite search engine with the name and model of your unit and hopefully you can figure out how to disassemble it.
2. Once CD or DVD lens is exposed use a alcohol & cotton swab to clean the lens. This is usually 99% of the problem! Let the lens dry and use a dry cotton swab to help with the drying process. You will be surprised on how much dirt will be removed off the CD or DVD lens. The only thing else you might want to look for is if any of the rubber belts have fell off the unit. This happens some times and is the other 1% that stops the CD or DVD from not playing. These can be easily replaced with another bought at Radio Shack or your local election shop. Usually you can just put the one that fell off right back on.
3. Reassemble your DVD Unit or CD player. Make sure you take time in doing this and remove any and all dust you see along the way. This will help in the long run and make sure your unit stays a little cleaner. If you did not have to disassemble your unit you should wait for the unit to dry and you're ready to go!
This is really a simple way to fix your DVD or CD Player it also works on any game system or stereo equipment that requires a CD or DVD including CD-R's or DVD Burners.
Safety Precaution's:
Always use safety precaution's while using Alcohol or working on a Electrical Unit. Make sure everything is disconnected from the electrical outlet and there is no power in or going to the unit.
