How to Clean Up Your Computer Easily with Security Task Manager

A few years ago I discovered Security Task Manager, a handy and free tool to remove viruses and trojans from your computer. This program is small, only 1,6 mb, and downloadable from http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/download.html.

You can also buy the full version, although that is not necessary, since the free version will alert you of viruses and trojans as well.

If you do not have a Norton cd and do not want to use other virus-protection software, this is just as good for most computers used at home or in small businesses.

With this download comes the download of the program Spy Protector.

How does this program work?
After installing, you can start up the program.
It will scan your computer for all the security risks, this takes only a few seconds. Then it will present you with a list of programs and processes running on the computer. For all of those programs and processes, it will indicate in red how much of a security risk it is. This is done on a scale from 1 to 100. With any rating over 60 meaning that a program is potentially dangerous.

Then it is up to you to check whether these are harmless programs and processes - which is very well possible - or a virus or trojan. Most trojans and viruses will be detected by this program, and the name will appear in the listing.

If you have any viruses or trojans on your computer, then you have to remove all the traces of that virus or trojan by hand. So this is a program for someone who is knowledgeable on the computer. Other than that, this is one of the best programs around that I know of.
