Some make the mistake of immediately trying to scrub the wall but sometimes this can be a mistake. Sometimes scrubbing the wall will actually make the stain worse because it will spread the wax. Instead try and get as much of the wax off without scrubbing. To do this get a hair dryer and blow-dry the crayon stain on medium heat. After a minute of heating the wax should soften and a knife can be used to scrape it off the wall. If that does not work immediately then go back to heating the crayon stain.
If melting and then scraping the wax only gets part of the wax off or it doesn't get any of the wax off it should at least make the wax softer. Softer wax means that it will be easier to scrub. There are many different options when trying to scrub crayon from a wall. WD-40 is the most popular product for cleaning stains from a wall. Not only does WD-40 work well but there is also a WD-40 pen that will make clean up a lot easier than using the spray can version of WD-40.
Baby oil is another product that can be used for scrubbing crayon stains on walls. Some swear that baby oil works better than WD-40 and it has a more pleasing aroma than WD-40. Regardless of which of these products are used they should be applied the same way. Apply the WD-40 or baby oil to the rag and then scrub the wall. If a rag will not do the trick then try using a toothbrush to scrub instead.
One last trick is to try a disposable cleaning eraser. The best product is Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser. The good news is this works wonders when it comes to cleaning crayon stains. The bad news is that disposable cleaning erasers can damage the surface of the wall. Consider disposable cleaning erasers as a last ditch effort and it's a good idea to
test the eraser by scrubbing an unseen part of the wall to see if it leaves any marks.
