How to Clean Your Gold Jewelry at Home

BS
Gold jewelry, as many already know, can be very costly. Since this gold jewelry has such a high price tag on it, people who purchase it should be able to enjoy this jewely fully for a very long time. Dirt, oils from your body, and everyday wear can make your gold jewelry lose its shine and make it look dull. You paid a lot for that gold jewelry so it should always look great when you're wearing it. Taking your gold jewelry to the jeweler's to get a "proper" cleaning is always an option, but you can clean your gold jewelry just as effectively for a lot less money.

Clean your gold jewelry using soap and water
How much more simple does it get? Get a bowl and fill it up with warm water. Add a little liquid soap to the water and put your gold jewelry in the bowl. Let the gold jewelry sit in the bowl for a few minutes, then take it out. Use a washcloth or toothbrush to buff the gold jewelry a little before you dry it off. When it's dried off, it should look brand new!

Clean your gold jewelry using ammonia
Cleaning your gold jewelry with ammonia works great when it comes to removing all the dirt. The only thing with ammonia is that it can't be used too often, only use ammonia on your gold jewelry when it really needs a good cleaning. Get a bowl of water, and add a small amount of ammonia to the water. Leave the gold jewelry in the bowl for about a minute and then take it out and rinse all of the cleaning solution off completely. Dry off your gold jewelry and enjoy its shine.

Clean your gold jewelry using a do it yourself kit
Many stores sell these jewelry cleaning kits, and they are very simple to use. There are some made for all types of jewelry, so make sure you read the label to find the one for gold jewelry. All you have to do is read the instructions and follow them correctly to clean your gold jewelry.

Clean your gold jewelry using a cleaning solution and a toothbrush
Jewelry cleaning solutions are very easy to find, and they often cost $5 or less. All you need to do when purchasing the jewelry cleaning solution is make sure that it will work for gold and will not cause it any damage. Dip the gold jewelry in the mixture and use the toothbrush to scrub the surface of your jewelry. Rinse the jewelry off with warm water and dry it off with a washcloth.

Clean your gold jewelry using isopropyl alcohol
Pour some isopropyl alcohol in a bowl and place your gold jewelry in the bowl. Let your jewelry soak for about an hour, all the grease and dirt will come off during this time. Take your gold jewelry out of the bowl, and buff it with a toothbrush or washcloth. Rinse it off with water to make sure that you have gotten all to alcohol off your gold jewelry, and it should be completely restored.

Great post! I always take my james allen gold jewelry to a shop to have them cleaned. Now I can save more just by doing the cleaning myself. Thanks a lot! You've been a great help!
