There are few items that you are going to need before you clean the toilet. The first is a spray bottle filled with 1 part vinegar to 1 part water. The second item that you will need is a box of baking soda and a toothbrush. The last item that you will need is a spray bottle filled with 1 part lemon juice to 1 part water.
The first thing that you are going to do is to flush your toilet. You want to try to have as little water in the toilet as possible. You can turn your water valve off while you are cleaning the toilet. It will be located just behind your toilet. Once the toilet is flushed you are going to spray the inside with the vinegar solution. Make sure to get the rim of the bowl really good. Let the vinegar set for 20 minutes. While it is setting you can take your toothbrush and wet it. Pour some baking soda onto the toothbrush and begin cleaning around the rim of the bowl. The vinegar and the baking soda should bubble. The vinegar is an acid and the baking soda is an abrasive. This combination should take off any residue that is under the rim. When you have finished let it continue to sit until the toilet is ready to flush. After the 20 minutes are up you can run your toilet brush inside of your bowl to finish cleaning the inside of the toilet. Now you can turn your water valve back on. You can flush the toilet now. The inside of your toilet should be nice and clean.
Next you are going to clean the outside of your toilet. I have chosen lemon juice because it is a disinfectant. You are going to use this spray to spray the outside of your toilet. This will go where everyone sits and where everyone misses. This will sanitize the area and give it a nice clean smell.
You don't have to go to the store and spend a lot of money on cleaners. Many times you have natural cleaners in your home and you don't even realize it. These three cleaners will go a long way. They will save you money and they are very healthy on the environment. You also don't have to worry about any caustic smells from them. I would encourage you to start finding other ways in your home that you can use these natural cleaners.
