There are good places to travel and bad when it comes to passport collecting. Europe overall is not a good place for passport stamp collecting. Europe has many open borders, meaning you can land in France, drive to Italy, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands and end up with just one stamp. However, if you travel through smaller countries that have many neighbors you chances are much better. Traveling through Southeast Asia and Central and South America can garner you a much better passport stamp collection.
Think Trains When Passport Stamp Collecting
Planes don't make many stops during a flight. Trains unlike planes travel through many countries and therefore make many stops. A train trip through Southeast Asia into Europe can secure you many passport stamps with the various countries you travel.
Ask Nicely for the Passport Stamp
Many times while traveling from one country to another, you will just be waved through by the customs agent. Most of these agents have the ink to stamp your passport and if asked nicely will oblige a request.
Get Passport Stamped Coming Home
If you are an American traveling aboard, you will qualify for an American passport stamp when you make your reentry coming home. As explained above, ask nicely and the customs agent will stamp your passport. However, be careful not to overload your passport with too many American stamps. It just looks tacky.
Go Beyond the Ordinary When Passport Stamp Collecting
What makes a passport stamp collection unique is the out of the ordinary stamps you have in it. Plan trips outside of the common travels that others usually do will help to find those exotic passport stamps. Maybe something with Chinese characters, Arab, or Hebrew script will give your passport a unique look.

Post a CommentIt's ironic that passport bookets are full of pages and in many situations they simply don't want to stamp your passport. That would NEVER fly in the USA where all foreigners are given a stamp to document their legal presence in the country as tourists, or on business.
Most of my stamps are American stamps whenever I return to this country. I was hoping to get a stamp when I visited Canada in July. But nothing! They must have changed their policy, because I always received stamps on previous trips to Canada.
