How to Color Your Hair Cherry Red Using Fake Halloween Blood
Use the Leftover Halloween Blood to Color Your Hair
I have used many different household items trying to achieve a deep red color, and succeeded. I have used the PAAS Easter egg dye, Kool-Aid, and food coloring, which you can read and learn how to do at the end of this article. Red is a very hot hair color for 2009 and 2010 including cherry red.
With Halloween coming up many will be making homemade Halloween blood. If you are mixing up some fake Halloween blood for Halloween and also want to add a nice red hair color to your hair put some of the fake Halloween blood recipe aside. Yep, you heard me right. You can color your hair cherry red by using fake Halloween blood. The recipe has to be flour, water, red food coloring, without the Karo syrup. By adding these ingredients together it will create an awesome deep red color.
Make sure if using the Halloween blood to color your hair that you wear gloves, an old shirt, and a towel wrapped around your neck. Also place some Vaseline, conditioner, or baby oil on your forehead, ears, and front and back of neck area. How long can I leave the Halloween blood recipe on my hair?
If your base color is blonde I suggest you only leave it on for 10-15 minutes tops. Blonde hair or highlighted hair has a tendency of grabbing color extremely well. For brown hair leave it on for 20-30 minutes, red hair 15-25 minutes, and black hair leave it on for 20-40 minutes. Make sure after you apply the Halloween blood recipe to your hair that you cover your head with a plastic processing cap. How would I keep my cherry red hair color from fading?
Red is the number one color when it comes to fading. To keep your hair from fading you can use a deposit shampoo once every week, always use cold water, and every 3-4 weeks make a mixture of Halloween blood and apply it to the hair to refresh your color. This time don't leave it in long. I would suggest maybe 10 minutes the most.

Post a CommentI came here for Halloween advice but I have to laugh at comment that you're so brave to use these different things to color your hair. Don't think that person ever met a beautician or beauty school student before. :)
does it act as a permant hair colour?
Cool. My daughter wanted red highlights but with her dark brown hair it is tough to see without bleaching first. Thanks for this.
You're so brave for trying all of those products to color your hair. This sounds like fun!
Ghoulishly clever.
I like red hair. However, I don't think I could go as bold as cherry red. Great ideas, though for those who are bold enough to try.
Interesting color commentary...
;-)
good luck to anyone trying this....and please send pics :)
Well I think I'll skip on doing this. I can't even change my socks to match my pants.
