How to Comfortably Invest

Chrisdavy
The best way to invest money isn't always the most obvious; however, the good news is that there are many fewer good investments than you think, and they all fall into just a few categories.

The best way to invest money depends on your personality, your investment capital, and your time frame. Here's how to find the best way to invest money

  1. The best way to invest money depends on how you define your money. Everyone has money that they care about and money they don't (expendable).

The stock market is built off of greed and fear. Especially if you have never invested before, you must understand that the less you care about your money, the better.

The less you care about your money, the more speculative you can be with your investments. Most people define expendable income as the last 10% of their income after bills, taxes, rents, food, clothes, and transport.

  2. Once you locate the income you call expendable, you must then familiarize yourself with the 3 forms of asset appreciating investments. They are --

    1. Real estate
    2. Stock market
    3. Business

You will be investing in one or more of these three. Put your first $1000 in the stock market because it is the least risky for small sums of money, believe it or not.

  3. Watch this $1000 carefully to learn how the stock market and business works before you invest larger sums.

  4. The best way to invest money if you have a passion or an idea is to put it into a business. The best way to invest money if you don't have any ideas is to invest in real estate.

Decide whether you have a viable business idea or not. The SCORE program, set up by the Small Business Association, can help you with that. SCORE.org. It's zero price, paid for by your taxes, and the mentors are very good.

  5. Business and real estate are the best way to invest money only if you have enough capital to grow the business or pay the mortgage WITHOUT loans.

If you get to this step, do the numbers, and find out you can't do either of those things, continue to learn the stock market and invest there. Under Resources, I have an article which will show you how to do just that. Gain income until you can easily make the payments on real estate or on a business.

Tips & Warnings

  • The best way to invest money is to make it work for you while leaving enough for yourself to live off comfortably. That is the goal that the above how to strives towards. Good luck.
