How Do I Complete Chapter 6, Tranquility Lane the Evil Way

In your quest to find your father, James, your travels in the Fallout 3 world will eventually bring you to Vault 112. (Hint: If you can't find it, here's a guide that can help).

When you enter the vault, you'll be sucked into a bizarre virtual world. You, your father, and the vault residents are all at the mercy of one evil, twisted, Dr. Braun.

Braun, who you'll meet in the simulation as Betty, wants you to play a bit of a game. If you're the goody two-shoes "Vault Legend" type, then you won't want to play along. It'll involve a lot of evil acts, culminating in mass murder.

If, on the other hand, you're playing an Evil character... Tranquility Lane should be right up your alley.

What follows is a compressed guide to Betty's games, taken from this complete walkthrough of Chapter 6, Tranquility Lane.

Making Timmy Neusbaum Cry

Step one? Make Timmy Neusbaum Cry.

Betty wants you to tease and torment the other child in the simulation. There are some creative things you could do - convince him his parents are getting divorced or convince him that he's going to military school.

However, here's the simplest (and most evil) way to make him cry: Murder his mother and/or father.

A bit brutal, yes, but effective.

Make Mr. and Mrs. Rockwell Get Divorced

Step two? Make the Rockwells get a divorce.

Luckily, you've got plenty of material to work with. Mrs. Rockwell is paranoid and thinking her husband is cheating on her with the neighbor. A simple speech test will allow you to convince her that this is true, and she'll leave the house in a huff.

There's a much more sinister path, though. If you read Mrs. Rockwell's diary upstairs, you'll learn that she wants to murder the neighbor - Ms. Simpson.

Grab the rolling pin in the Rockwell's kitchen, bludgeon Ms. Simpson with it, and then tell Mr. Rockwell that his wife did it. He won't be able to get out of that house quick enough!

Creatively Kill Mabel Henderson

Step three? Kill dear old Mabel Henderson.

There are plenty of creative solutions here - four to be exact.

My favorite is to tinker with the pilot light in the stove. You can then speak to her and ask her to make a pie for you. They are so delicious...

As soon as she lights the oven - POOF! Up in flames she goes.

Become the Pint Sized Slasher

The final, gruesome step: don the attire of the Pint Sized Slasher and murder everyone in Tranquility Lane.

It's pretty simple. Follow Betty's directions, get the knife from the doghouse outside the abandoned house, and hunt everyone down.

Here's a useful tip, though. Let them run inside and then try to track them down.

Outside, they'll outrun and run in circles for quite a while. Once they are inside, they won't leave.

Bask In Your Evil

After murdering Braun's tormented captives, he'll allow you and your father to leave the simulation. He won't give you a lot of answers, but your father has apparently collected enough information about the GECK to continue his work on Project Purity.

Have a chat with the old man, and then head back to Rivet City for Chapter 7!
