How to Make Computer Symbols on Your Keyboard

Have you ever seen a cute little computer symbol that somebody typed on an e-mail or on Facebook, and wondered how they did that? It's really pretty easy. All you need to do is press the alt key on your computer keyboard and the numerical code on your number pad to make any computer symbol. I have several computer symbols that I type frequently, so I have them memorized. For the computer symbols I use occasionally, I have a little cheat sheet by the computer. You could also just bookmark or print out this page and have all the computer symbols available to you any time.

Step by step instructions for making computer symbols on your keyboard:

Locate the symbol you want and read the code. Make sure your "numlock" is enabled on you number key pad. The green light will show on "numlock" when it is enabled. Hold the "alt" key down with one hand and enter the numbers for the computer symbol you want on the number pad with your other hand. By the way, it very important to type the "0" even if it's at the beginning of the code. Leaving the "0" out will make the incorrect computer symbol. Release the "alt" key and your computer symbol should appear in your text. It's that easy!
