How to Be a Contestant on Hell's Kitchen

Beth Inman
The producers of hell's Kitchen will soon be looking for a new cast. If you are competitive and very outspoken they could be looking for you. This fast moving cooking competition is another one of today's popular reality shows. The harsh direction of Fox TV's popular chef, Gordon Ramsay, pits chef against chef in dog eat dog fashion. It will take more than just good cooking skills to win this one!

To qualify for a part in the upcoming season of Fox Broadcast's Hell's Kitchen you do not have to be a gourmet chef. They will accept applications from anyone that loves food! Food lovers, cooks, experienced chefs, cafeteria workers, caterers, weekend gourmet chefs, even fast food preparers are invited to apply.

A visit to the website will direct you to send an email to hkcasting@granadaprod.com for application information. Of course, that is just what I did. I just received a reply to that email and have included here a copy of the reply:

Thanks so much for interest in joining us in Hell's Kitchen.

We're in the process of putting together our casting plans for the future. Once

that is finalized we will be getting back to you with where we are holding

casting calls. If you can't make one of those we will also send information

on how to submit an application directly.

Good luck!

Now, if you are seriously interested, that isn't much information is it? I would advise the following:

1. Send an email to the producers to the email above. This will get you on the list and you will receive the information as soon as it becomes available.

2. Most reality based shows are looking for personality. Make a video that highlights your personality. If you've got spunk, show it.

3. Do you have formal training as a chef? If you do, supply information, what school you attended, when and where.

4. If you have no formal education, but plenty of experience in a kitchen, prepare a resume that will highlight that experience.

5. Supply written confirmation of that experience if possible.

6. Send a current photo of yourself. Remember, they do not return these, so if it is your favorite photo of yourself, make a copy.

7. Explain why you want to be on Hell's Kitchen. Explain why you want to win Hell's Kitchen.

8. Explain what it is about you that makes you certain you can measure up to the VERY high standards of Chef Gordon Ramsay.

Now for the standard stuff:

9. Are you 21? Provide your full name and age.

10. Your application must contain your address, phone number and email address.

I have my own hot sauce that would set Hell's kitchen on fire, that no extingisher would put out. It's called Wolff's liquid fire - 100 proof + and butt blaster (it does come with a fire extingusher but it won't help). Also I have my own chili. I did not know that something I could come up with will totally ruin your palette, but if you want to try it just make sure you have milk and not water. Thank you for your time and I would appreciate if you would get a hold of me at alliecat32@hotmail.com

Thank you very much for your time. Mike Wolff

I love the show, but I don't think I could tolerate Gordon Ramsey. LOL!! I probably wouldn't make it though the first show.. Great Info, Nice Article!
