1.) Drink Plenty of clear liquids, like lots of water, 7-up pop, ginger ale, sprite, also some fruits Juices, try some tea as well.

2.) You must avoid certain foods and drinks, try to avoid heavy dark fluids like cola, coffee, or grape juice.
3.) Stay away from greases foods, like pizza's, fried chicken, and spices foods, also dairy foods which may cause diarrhea.
4.) If you're vomiting, don't eat any solid foods until after six hours a lease, then, slowly try to eat only light foods,
like dry toast, or crackers, jello, an sliced apple, or some light chicken noodle soup.
5.) Over-the-counter medication like Pepto Bismol my help eliminate nausea in adults. These medicines, however,
contain aspirin-like ingredients and should never be given to children or teens who have had recent episodes of
bouts with chickenpox or flu.
6.) You'll need to get plenty of rest and just take it easy, the smell of food may also make you sick as well.

Most of the time an upset stomach is do to the flu, or a virus, or something you ate that didn't agree with your stomach, sometimes food is not cooked properly, so make sure your meats, and vegetables, are rinsed throughly before cooking, and also the counter top where you're preparing your food is clean and dry, there are some bacteria kitchen sprays you can use for the counter tops to eliminate germs. Nothing you can't take care of with self help, making sure to wash your hands as well. But, if your symptoms are related to the flu, all you can do is to see your Physician and take his or her advice, and help yourself by following the above suggestions for self help, and get plenty of bed rest. And if you're a female you'll want to check with you doctor to make sure you're not pregnant. The above advice is mint to be helpful suggestions for a upset stomach, you should see your doctor if you think you're feeling ill from something more of a serious nature. There is also the possibility of getting" food poisoning" which can also cause some of these same symptoms mention above, this is a result from eating bacteria and/or bacterial products called toxins, which is caused by (poorly cooked food), this illness develops within 24 hours of eating contaminated meat, and symptoms usually subside in the next 24 hours, for this condition you would only need something to stop the diarrhea, and that would be the only treatment necessary. There also can be some Salmonella Bacteria in the food that can cause diarrhea this is often accompanied by abdominal cramps, vomiting and fever, children under the age of six are the most likely to get the disease, if you or your child have any of these symptoms get medical attention because this is different from just having an upset stomach as mention above.
