How to Convert a File Format from AVI to M4V
A Step-by-Step Tutorial on Converting File Extension from AVI to M4V
1. Download and install the River Past Video Cleaner from its official website: http://www.riverpast.com/. Next, launch the program by double clicking on its desktop icon.
2. Once the program is open, click on the Add File button, which is located on the toolbar. The file open dialog should be open now. Click on AVI (Audio Video Interleave), which is found in the Files of type section.
3. Select the file you want to convert, and then click on Open. The file will then be added to the conversion file list. (See NOTE below).
4. Now, you need to select the output format. You can do this by using the setting panel that is found on the bottom of the window. Select MP4 - MPEG-4 as the file type.
5. Now you need to change video settings. Select the toggle found on the left of the Video Settings label to expand the panel. After that, click Specify and then select the desired video resolution and frame rate. You can also change the compressor, quality, size, and bit rate.
6. Change the audio settings, if you want to. To do this, select the audio compressor for conversion. You can change the compressor, sample rate, channel, and bit rate.
8. Select the output directory by expanding the Output Directory panel. Click Browse and select the output folder you wish to save the file to.
9. Once you have done that, click Convert to begin the conversion process.
NOTE: It is important to know that AVI is a file container format. This means that the format uses standard Windows codecs or any third party codecs. If you are using a third party code, you will need the codec installed on your computer before the River Past Audio Converter can decode the file. If you are not able to add the AVI file, you may have a video that uses codecs not installed on your computer. You can verify this by trying to play the file on Windows Media Player. If Windows Media Player cannot play the file, you do not have the codecs installed.
