How to Convert a Pan of Dog Poop into Cash

LarrWayne Po

This true story begins when a large pan of dog poop was discovered at the entrance door of a flea marketer. A number of thoughts were generated after the flea marketer discovered the free gift with no senders name.

(1) A neighbor is returning the found fertilizer and thinks it was delivered by my dog. (However, I have no dog, so mistaken identity could be at play here).

(2) Someone else owns a large dog at this flea market and just returning the poop to the building, is an attempt to relay a message such as (keep your dog out of my yard).

(3) A secret admirer dropped off the gift of a pot with a plant or flower stuck into the fertilizer and someone stole the flower.

More thoughts entered the flea marketer's head, such as: How can I convert a game players prank into a profitable venture?

After discarding the poop, dirt was used to scrub the pan clean, then it was rinsed and washed. A magnet test verified the pan was made out of aluminum and scales verified the pan weighed about 5 pounds.

At the time of this writing, scrap aluminum is selling for about 50 cents a pound. The pan can be sold as scrap for about $2.50.

The pan was not placed on the shelf as a for sale item, but was returned to the placed where it had been discovered. At closing time, it was time to decide what to do with the pan.

While getting ready to lock the door, a shopper came by and offered $2. for the pan. The answer returned by the flea marketer was, it will bring more than that at the scrap yard. In the finale, the pan sold for $3.

Happy hunting for profitable money making ventures. And may your next free gift be delivered in a copper pot. Copper is selling for about $3. a pound.
