How to Convert Yourself from Being Shy to Confident

Human being is an amalgamation of many qualities, including opposites. Nobody is absolute confident. A variable mixture of doubt, uncertainty and indecision resides as the fabric of every individual. A human being becomes shy during unfamiliar situations, though in acute cases shyness becomes so pathological that it may disturb an individual in his most well faced situations and relationships as well. Then the person becomes a patient of Social withdrawal Syndrome. Shy individuals avoid the objects and situations apprehending that the situation will turn against him though in all cases it may not be the same. Thus, the situations remain unfamiliar and the shyness perpetuates itself.

First thing, we should keep in mind that confidence is gained through learning. Our parents do not provide it through genes. So, if you fell shy in some conditions or before some persons; it means that somewhere in your life you have criticized about the same conditions. Be positive.

Definitely, you can win the situation. Act as if you are popular. Analyzing the past, you can reinvent and tackle.

Too much self-consciousness is the Prime enemy of self-confidence. The trick is avoiding too much thinking of yourself when you need to. That means when you feel self-conscious, distract your mind into totally different matters, like think of the various colors of the butterfly you have last seen, what was the prices of the vegetables in the shopping center yesterday etc. The important thing is how you are keeping your mind off yourself.

Social shyness is sometimes difficult to overcome. Means you are not sure what is to be done at a particular circumstance. So, concentrate on the purposes of yourself being in the situation: whether you are there to-

Find out whether you feel comfortable with all other present around you?

You can make others feel the same.

Try to talk to as many people you can. Start with some lame topic. Do not be over enthusiastic.

Make business contacts.

Participate in the activities which are taking place and you are comfortable.

Always keep a smile in your face.

You should ask yourself that what it is you fear. Is this is due to rejection? There must be something that you are really good or know a lot about something that others don't. What ever these things are, just sharpen your knowledge until you feel really satisfied about yourself. It is much easier to carry on a conversation with anybody when you know that you are pundit about the subject.

Do you think of yourself as good looking? Have you ever looked into the full size mirror for quite some time? Take a good look at yourself and ask that what you'll be doing to make yourself look better. Maybe you need to visit your hair-stylist or buy some new clothes. Whatever it is, do it so you can feel good about your appearance. It will definitely increase your confidence. To relax, just take a deep breath and start up a conversation with someone.
