My favorite way to enjoy this dish is with fries, mash potatoes, Cole Slaw and some hot sauce on the side. Hot sauce or a spicy sauce is good to add if you like your chicken with a kick.
The following is a recipe for making your own fried chicken that's so good that you will abandon your favorite fried chicken restaurant. Also, this recipe is easy and will not take a lot of time to get dinner on the table.
Marinade:
1 Cup of Milk
1 Egg
½ Cup of Hot Sauce
1 Tablespoon of McCormick Season Salt
Black Pepper to taste
First, you will need to wash your chicken and pat it dry. Next, you will need to mix the ingredients and pour over the chicken in a shallow glass baking dish. The chicken will need to marinate in the dish in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
Flour Mixture:
1 Cup of Flour
¼ cup of Corn Meal
1 Tablespoon of McCormick Season Salt
2 Teaspoons of Cayenne Pepper
Black Pepper to taste
Hot sauce to taste
Additional Items You Need:
Peanut oil
Deep Fryer
What You Have To Do
You will need to set your deep fryer to 360 degrees. Take a Ziploc bag or brown paper sack and add the flour mixture. Next, you will need to dip each piece of chicken in the flour mixture and place the chicken in batches into the deep fryer.
Take some paper towels and put them on a platter or plate. This will help drain the grease off the chicken when it comes out of the peanut oil. Depending on your deep fryer or the chicken pieces, the chicken is ready within 13 to 15 minutes. It will take longer if you are using chicken breast. The chicken should have a pretty golden brown color. If you like hot sauce then you can shake a little hot sauce on you chicken or put the hot sauce on the side. This recipe should make 4 servings.
This is definitely a fried chicken recipe that you want to add to your favorite recipes. Now the only thing left to do is to enjoy some good fried chicken!
