I hate it when people do this. You have plenty of time left, why muck things up because of impatience? Do everyone a favor and go after one of the Buy It Now items instead. Here are a few tips for dealing with rage fueled by incompetent boobs who don't know how to price haggle.
Buy crap just to blow off some steam.
Find a really cheap item and buy it as soon as possible. Doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's breakable. You should be calm by the time you receive said item. Next time you have a Bid Gouger experience, find that miscellaneous item and throw it up against something.
Just make sure that something is a wall and not a person. Having to pay medical bills because a loved one was duck, or dodge out the way will only make make the situation worse. Just like crossing the street, look both ways before hurling random objects across your home.
Eat Beef Jerky
Avoid chipping your teeth while gritting them in anger by eating a tasty treat. Jerky isn't the most obvious comfort food, but hey, it works!. Iv'e been seeing Beef Jerky advertisements now more than ever. As it turns out, that stuff is pretty dang tasty!
Don't like processed meats? Try licorice rope, or even real rope. At least with actual rope, you don't have to worry about buying more. That is, unless you have the jaw muscles of a billy goat. In which case, just gnaw on a tin can or leather boots.
Write angry letters.
Channel your rage into a poorly constructed, illegible catastrafuck of mangled insults on paper. Punctuation is optional. Just let loose of the lame duck and let them know exactly how you feel about their antics...
...Seeing as Ebay bids are anonymous, there is no way to find their email or snail mail address. This is the prefect time to have an arch enemy. Rewrite the letters to make them as vague as possible. use phrases like "lowlife scum" and "things would be better without having to deal with your crap!" At least then you can kill birds with one stone.
Can't beat 'em? Join 'em!
If nothing else calms you, I suppose you can always the thing you hate. It's very easy if you should choose to do so. All you need to do is find auctions with more than 4 bidding days left, and make a bid that is about twenty dollars above the average sell price.
At the end of the day, this only serves to make matters worse for the entire community. It could end up starting a trend that would end up killing the site. Who wants to use Ebay to buy items when you have a much better chance of finding a deal elsewhere?

Post a CommentOr you could learn how eBay's proxy bidding works. "Bid gouging" is not possible. If someone places a bid higher than yours, the price will increase to your maximum bid, plus one increment, no matter how much they bid.
Say there's an item with an opening bid of $5.
If your maximum bid is $25, and I bid $50, the price will jump to from $5 to $26. This happens because the new bidder has no idea who much you bid.
If your opening bid was $6, the new bid would raise the price to $6.50, and you'd still be outbid. "Bid gouging" is just someone willing to pay more than you. Hardly worth a tantrum.
Thanks for the info. I never used ebay.
I was told that some people actually have people bid on the items just to up the ante on it. I feel the same way when someone
bids even higher than store prices. Goof balls I guess. Roberta B.
Why? Incompetence basically. Some of these nuts are crazy. "Illegible catastrafuck" - I'd like to see an example of that. Tell you what would be fun, creating a bogus account and then just stomping around putting humongous quadzillion dollar bids in. Wuhahaha
I never use ebay, I don't like the shipping charges, then the duty at customs
It seems almost impossible to get good deals on eBay these days. Why are there some people who just seem to ruin everything?
I can help you with item number 1.
