Learning to turn stress into a positive thought is how most cope. Failure to reduce your stress levels not only reduces how effective you are on the job but your health suffers drastically.
Here are five steps to cope with stress in work.
1. Breathe. Count 10 slow breaths and concentrate on inhaling and exhaling. This method can be used anywhere which can be an advantage.
2. Write. As you feel your stress levels raise start to write down your thoughts. This will remove any stress or emotion you may be feeling. Write down all of your feelings on paper, tear it up and bin it.
3. Use positive imagery. Do you have a picture of your vacation or maybe an even you enjoyed? Put it on your desk and when you feel stress building stare it and imagine you are there. This can reduce you levels if you can imagine for one minute.
4. Listen to your favorite music. Putting on your favorite music can calm your down instantly. If you keep the music quiet and peaceful, you'll feel at ease during your work day. Music is know to bring peace and help you through your task.
5. Positive Thinking. Do not let negative thoughts increase your stress levels. Use positive thoughts and statements to calm you down. Repeat things like "I can manage stress" The positive will push the negative out of your mind.
The great thing about these 5 simple steps is that there quick easy and discrete so can be done anywhere anytime.
