Add food coloring (your color choice) one drop at a time, until you reach your desired color. Add the scented oil a drop at a time, until the gel is scented to your liking. The jars can be left as is or you can add a decorative cover. To craft a decorative cover, cut the lace approx. 1/2 inch larger than the jar opening. Place the lace over the jar opening and put on the rubber band to hold the lace in place. Tie a piece of satin ribbon around the jar making sure to cover the rubber band, tie into a pretty bow.
Tip: Over time the gel can have a tendency to mold, to keep this from happening replace 1 tablespoon of the cold water with 1 tablespoon of vodka.

1/2 cup salt
1/4 teaspoon scented oil
2/3 cups boiling water

In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients well. Add the boiling water and scented oil, mix well. To make the stones colored, add food coloring, one drop at a time until you reach your desired shade. Blend the coloring in well. Grab a small pinch of dough and form into the shape of a pebble. Continue the process until all of the dough has been shaped into stones. Allow the stones to dry, place your craft stones into a pretty bowl for display.

Fragrant Heart Shaped Sachet

Materials

Craft fabric remnants (your choice)
potpourri or dried lavender
satin ribbon
needle and thread
pinking shears

Directions

Fold the fabric in half, inside out. Draw or trace a 4" heart. Cut out the heart shape with the pinking shears (to create a decorative edge). Sew around the heart about 1/4" leaving an opening available for inserting the potpourri or lavender. Add and sew a 6" looped ribbon to the top (for hanging). Next fill the heart with potpourri or lavender and sew the gap closed to finish. These sachets are great for hanging on a door knob, dresser knob or bed post. You can omit the ribbon and place them in drawers too.
