1. Go to your start menu and click on Control Panel. Here you will then click on System Maintenance.
2. The second choice category is the Backup and Restore Center. Two options are listed right below the title. Click on Back up your computer to get started.
3. In the next window you will find several options available to you for either Back up or Restore actions. Click on the Back up computers icon on the left of the screen. This enables you to perform a Complete PC Backup. You will need your DVDRs.
4. The next window will ask you where you wish to create your back up. Please choose the DVDs option.
5. The next window will ask you to choose the files you want backed up. Make sure you have the C drive selected for back up (drive with the windows installation already on it). The drive will be marked 'system'.
6. Click Next on the bottom of the screen and confirm your settings before clicking the start backup icon. This process can take a while. Make sure you perform the backup during a time the system is not being used. Disconnect the internet and de-activate antivirus temporarily. When the backup is complete, re-connect to the internet and re-activate your antivirus software.
